Marketing, MSc

About the programme

On the Marketing MSc you will be introduced to the most important analytical methods, tools, and key industry trends in the fields of marketing and communication and will be able to put the knowledge you acquire into practice immediately. This applies whether you are a professional currently working in the field and looking to gain a solid theoretical foundation to support and enhance your existing knowledge and experience, or if you are at the very beginning of your career and looking for invaluable experience working on real-life projects with the support of corporate experts.

Successful graduates are able to manage the marketing activities of small, medium, or large enterprises on both the client and agency sides, designing and implementing complex marketing campaigns and providing significant added value to marketing departments of both international and domestic organisations.

The broad range of specialisation options ensures that you will be able to focus on the area most relevant to your interests and career goals, so seize the opportunity and start to build your future at the cutting edge of marketing.

Those students for whom we can accept a minimum of 60 relevant credits from their bachelor studies have the chance to complete their master’s programme in just two semesters.

The Marketing MSc at the Budapest University of Economics and Business has been designed as a continuation of the university’s Commerce and Marketing bachelor’s degree, the largest in Hungary. However, we have also ensured that students joining from other universities or different undergraduate backgrounds can integrate seamlessly, gaining comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge in one of the most rapidly evolving fields of business. Upon completing the programme, you will receive a degree certifying your qualification as a Qualified Economist in Marketing.

Our programme takes an innovative approach to the thesis and final examination system, moving away from traditional methods. During the final two terms, we prepare students to solve industry-specific tasks through professional project-based teaching, and your thesis and final examination will be structured around these practical assignments. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to participate in research projects related to key topics, whether as part of your Student Research Societies work or as a foundation for PhD studies.

The Marketing MSc is taught at our city centre campus and is also offered full-time in English.

The Marketing MSc contains specialised knowledge on a wide range of areas, including holistic marketing, modern methods of marketing research, business intelligence and data analysis, PR and strategic communication, service marketing, communication and brand strategy, and many more. Throughout your studies, you will be able to identify and specialise in your specific area of interest.
