About the programme

Would you like to speak the language of business and accounting fluently? Do you want to know how and where to invest your savings wisely? Would you like to learn financial planning to start your own business one day?

On the Finance and Accounting BSc, you will acquire knowledge of corporate finance, accounting, investments, and business decision support methods, gaining insight into the financial processes of the economy and businesses, their accounting treatment, as well as business analysis and data visualisation methods.

Successful graduates with a strong interest in finance typically pursue careers in large corporations, banking, asset management, and insurance, or establish their own businesses. Those specialising in accounting commonly begin their careers in bookkeeping, auditing, or tax consultancy. Whatever your interests, upon graduation you will be able to apply your professional knowledge, communication skills, and foreign language proficiency to support business decision-making and collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

This programme offers a double-degree opportunity with Avans University of Applied Sciences (The Netherlands).

Upon completing the programme, you will receive a degree certifying your qualification as an Economist in Finance and Accounting. With this qualification, you will also be eligible to obtain a certified public accountant licence, and the degree is ACCA accredited, ensuring international recognition of the acquired knowledge.

The programme taught at our campus in Zugló and is also offered full-time in English.

The programme’s specialised knowledge is built on 3 key areas:

  1. finance: corporate finance, international financial markets, corporate funding, financial services, and public finance
  2. accounting: accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, auditing, and international accounting standards
  3. corporate decision support: business statistics, business informatics, data analysis and visualisation, business planning, and control).

This is all based upon the general economic and business knowledge expected of economists, including marketing, accounting, corporate finance, entrepreneurship and innovation, corporate strategy, and sustainability, all of which will enable you to gain a comprehensive understanding of corporate challenges you are likely to face in the future. Throughout the programme, you will also develop key language, communication, and leadership competencies, which are highly valued in the job market.
