Call for Applications: Scholarship of Excellence, Pannonia Program Academic Mobility for the 2024/2025 Academic Year (Outgoing Students), Les Roches Global Hospitality School

The International Relations and Mobility Office at BBU announces the Pannonia Program for study abroad mobility applications.

Program overview

The Pannonia Program aims to provide educational, linguistic, and cultural experiences in partner higher education institutions of the sending university. Mobility for academic purposes promotes academic progress and personal development. The total mobility period (academic study and practical traineeship) within one study cycle can be a maximum of 12 months. Selected students can study at the host institution free of charge and receive a living allowance within the Pannonia Program framework.

This opportunity is NOT available for students participating in BBU’s Stipendium Hungaricum program.

Application deadline:

  • For the Fall semester: August 15, 2024
  • For the Spring semester: November 15, 2024
  • You must be pursuing a diploma at BBU and have an active student status during your mobility in a MASTER’S training program.
  • You must have completed at least two semesters.
  • You must meet the formal requirements of the application. The ranking is based on your scientific and professional resume, as well as public activities mentioned in your motivational letter.
  • You must have at least B2 language skills in the language of instruction.
  • The total mobility period within one training cycle can be a maximum of 12 months.
  • Before starting your mobility abroad, you must submit a written study contract with previously agreed-upon content (Learning Agreement).
  • Your mobility activity must fit into your training plan and be related to your current studies.
  • At the end of the mobility period, the host institution must issue a certificate of the completed study program and results (Certificate of Study Period/Transcript of Records).
  • For academic mobility, a minimum of 15 ECTS credits must be completed at the host institution.
  • BBU is obliged to fully accept the activities undertaken, completed, and certified in the study contract (Grant Agreement).
  • If a student successfully applies twice in consecutive semesters and withdraws both times after being nominated, they can only reapply after skipping one application cycle.

The Pannonia Program study mobility application can be submitted via BBU’s online application portal. The deadlines are:

  • For the Fall semester: August 15, 2024, 11:59 p.m.
  • For the Spring semester: November 15, 2024, 11:59 p.m.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

1) Referenced Documents:

  • TDK, OTDK, I-III place or special award certificate, other outstanding academic, sport, art, or public activities certified, if relevant, and a B2 language certificate if the language of mobility is not the same.
  • Attach all relevant documents mentioned in your motivational letter, such as mentoring international students, participating in international projects, project week courses, and online international projects included in your class requirements.

2) Proof of Relevant Language Skills:

  • Attach your language certificate(s). If you do not have one, a certificate must be issued by your faculty’s language department.

3) Motivation Letter:

  • Describe your areas of interest and main achievements, including outstanding academic, sporting, artistic, credit-bearing voluntary, or public activities. Explain why participation in Pannonia mobility is important to you (max 300 words).
  • Describe your previous international experience and activities undertaken at BBU to gain international experience (mentoring foreign students, participating in international projects, etc.) (max 300 words).
  • By submitting your application, you authorize relevant BBU associates to read your motivation letter and use it anonymously for research and/or as a tool for improving the application process.

4) Scientific/Professional Resume

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Your motivation letter and resume will be reviewed by the decision-making body.
  • An interview organized by the host university.
  • Scholarships are awarded based on the accepted selection system, considering the planned funds. The decision is conditional and can only be considered final if the financial support available for the institution is disbursed. All applicants will be notified via email.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Before submitting your application, thoroughly research the courses offered by the selected partner institution, the language of instruction, and the costs of living.
  • Once the selection procedures are completed and the applicant is accepted, the scholarship administration will be handled by the International Relations and Mobility Office.

You can apply for study mobility at BBU’s Pannonia Program Scholarship of Excellence partner institution. This application period offers the chance to apply for Les Roches University master’s degree, ranked 5th in Hospitality and Tourism by QS World Rankings.

  • Applicants must study the partner’s profile and make a decision based on the available relevant courses.
  • You must have at least B2 or equivalent language skills.
  • Applications can be submitted for the Fall and Spring semesters of the 2024/2025 academic year.

The scholarship may include:

  1. Tuition fee funding
  2. Travel funding
  3. Accommodation funding

The maximum scholarship amount is 10 million HUF. The scholarship may not necessarily cover all tuition fees, travel costs, and accommodation expenses.
