The International Relations and Mobility Office is launching a call for applications to participate in the Erasmus+ program in the academic year 2023/24 under the following conditions:
Erasmus+
Call for application 2023/24
Application deadline:
15th March, 23:59
IMPORTANT! At the end of December 2022, the European Commission informed the Tempus Public Foundation, the coordinator of the Erasmus+ program in Hungary, that no legal commitment can be made based on Council Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/2506 with the public interest trust established under Hungarian Act IX of 2021 or with the legal entity maintained by such public interest trust. The measure taken is temporary and will remain in force until further notice from the European Commission. Budapest Business University has submitted its application for the next funding cycle, which would provide financing for scholarships between June 01, 2023 and July 31, 2025. As a consequence, Budapest Business University will only be able to provide the Erasmus+ scholarships awarded under this call for proposals if the above measures are repealed, the Beneficiary Agreement is signed, and the Erasmus+ funds are available. Even in this case, a delay in the disbursement of the scholarships can be expected. Selected applicants will be kept informed of the changes and are advised to give preference to spring semester mobilities at this time if it is compatible with their study plans. Thank you for your understanding!
About the programme
The aim of the mobility is to enable you to gain educational, linguistic, and cultural experience at another higher education institution in an Erasmus program country or partner country. Study mobility should promote the student’s academic progress and the development of their personal skills. The maximum cumulative duration of mobility (study and internship) within a study cycle is 12 months. Successful students will be entitled to study free of charge at the host institution and receive a living allowance under the Erasmus+ program. This option is not available to students participating in the BBU Stipendium Hungaricum program.
The aim of study mobility is to enable students to gain professional, linguistic, and cultural experience in a higher education institution in another country.
- You must be studying for a degree at BBU and have an active student status during your mobility.
- You must have completed at least one semester at the time of application, except for Master’s, FOSZK, PhD students.
- You must meet the formal application requirements. Ranking is based on the cumulative adjusted credit index and academic and public activity.
- You must have at least B2 proficiency in the language of instruction or be studying in a BBU foreign language program. If you do not have a language certificate, a certificate issued by a language school or the BBU Institute of Foreign Languages will also suffice.
- You can combine your period of study with an internship, so that the internship as part of your learning mobility takes place under the supervision of the same host higher education institution as the one where you are studying. The funding rates for such a “combined period” are the same as for the study period.
- If you are a student in a doctoral program, you can participate in study mobility programs of either short (5-30 days) or normal (2-12 months) duration.
- If a partner university explicitly promotes such a program, learning mobility can also take the form of blended mobility. The virtual component of such mobility can be online cooperative learning or group work. A minimum of 2 months of physical mobility is required. Grants may only be awarded for this part.
- The maximum cumulative duration of mobility in a training cycle is 12 months.
- A signed Learning Agreement agreed upon the content of the mobility is required before starting the study abroad.
- The activities carried out during your mobility must fit into your training plan and be related to your studies.
- At the end of the study period, the host institution abroad must issue a Certificate of Study Period/Transcript of Records.
- For study mobility, a minimum of 15 ECTS credits must be completed at the host institution.
- You cannot study abroad with Erasmus during the semester of your final exam.
- BBU is obliged to fully accept the activities undertaken, completed, and certified in the study contract.
- You are also entitled to a study grant from BBU during the period abroad.
Erasmus+ study mobility applications can be submitted via our exchange.uni-bge.hu application site.
Application deadline: 15 March 2023, 23:59
The documents required to submit an application are:
- Proof of relevant language skills/certificates
- Motivation letter
- Proof of OTDK, TDK 1st to 3rd place or Special prize
- Proof of other outstanding academic sport, artistic, or public activity (if relevant)
Selection criteria (See scoring system HERE):
- Cumulative adjusted credit index average (0-60 points)
- If relevant: TDK, OTDK I-III place, or special prize (30 or 15 points)
- Other outstanding academic, sporting, artistic, or public activity, mentoring of foreign students, participation in an international project, project week courses, participation in an online international project in the context of class work, etc. (can only be awarded once, 10 points)
A total of 100 points can be earned.
In the case of a tie, the final ranking will be based on the evaluation of the motivation letters of the applicants concerned and will be based on the criteria set out in the scoring system. Scholarships will be awarded based on the agreed scoring system, taking into account the planned application framework. The decision is conditional and will be final only if the institutional budget is paid. All applicants will be notified by email.
It is important to be well-informed about the courses offered by the partner institution, the language of instruction, and the cost of living before submitting your application.
You can apply for study mobility to BBU Erasmus+ partner institutions. You can find the list of institutions currently open for applications HERE.
- The list of partners is defined at the institution level, by discipline, and not by faculty. The important thing is that the subjects studied abroad are related to your studies.
- It is up to the applicant to study the partner profile and make a decision based on the relevant courses available.
- You must have a minimum level of B2 or equivalent in one of the languages of instruction of the institution concerned, as certified by a language test, a language school certificate, or a certificate issued by the BBU Institute of Foreign Languages.
- You can apply for mobility to a maximum of 2 host institutions at the same time; the ranking and the number of places available will determine which institution you are awarded the scholarship to.
- In this call for applications, you can apply for the whole academic year 2023/24, for the autumn and spring semester 2023/24. It is recommended to give preference to the spring semester.
In case the Erasmus+ funding will be available, you can calculate the approximate amount of your grant in advance. The grant is a contribution to your mobility plan, but it does not necessarily cover all your costs. Make a budget before you start. The amount will depend on your destination country and the time you spend abroad. It is a flat-rate amount, there is no itemized account, but you will have to prove that you have completed your mobility in accordance with your grant agreement. You will receive the scholarship in one sum in euros after signing the contract.
